A lifelong dancer and professional musical theatre actress from New York City, Amanda Trusty moved to Hawai'i in 2013 looking for something else - something different than the hectic life of a New Yorker. She found paradise, in more ways than one, when the aloha spirit inspired her to write about body love advocacy and roar deep from within. After some rejuvenation in the jungle, Amanda found a tiny dance studio where she's been captured by the inspiring students of all body types who have never danced before the studio opened in 2010. Their stories, and the colors and breezes of Hawai'i, have inspired the ALOHA line for Sadie Jane.
A portion of every ALOHA purchase goes straight to building dance culture on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Amanda's company students, who study extra hours each week in a more professional track, perform monthly in their community and are working towards their own show in the spring. The ALOHA line was inspired by these very dancers - so it's only fitting that part of each sale goes straight back to help them reach their dreams.
